Doppler or ultrasound?

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow because he wants to check the heart rate on the baby. I'm on progesterone inserts until Tuesday but he said he wants to make sure everything sounds good with baby before I get off of them. I will be 9w3day tomorrow. I'm not thin but I'm not fat. I just think because I don't have a flat tummy they won't be able to hear it because baby is so small. I've tried to find the heart rate on my doppler I have but I have had no luck. Do you think he'd probably do an ultrasound or try the doppler? This will be the first time the heartbeat is heard to.

I'm thin & my dr didn't even try the Doppler until 12w-- he did the transvaginal at my prior appointments (I was high risk so had 4 appts before 12w).

It's still early to detect baby's heart beat on a doppler. I couldn't hear mine til about 16-17 weeks but he had a good heart rate on ultrasound. Doesn't matter the size either.

My daughter was found in 2 seconds on the Doppler by my doctor at 9 weeks so it could go either way .

You usually can't hear baby's heartbeat on a Doppler until after 12 weeks because your uterus is still under your pubic bone, so most likely they will do transvaginal ultrasound!

Hell probably do a transvaginal ultrasound to see and hear baby you won't get over the stomach until second trimester most likely, irregardless of your weight. I'm very thin and didn't get over the stomach till sixteen weeks
