anyone diabetic and pregnant?
I am a type 2 diabetic. I'm 125lbs and 5"4. I found out I am pregnant with my third child. I was diagnosed with diabetes last January so this is my first pregnancy with diabetes. I had gestational with my 2nd that just never went away.
I'm trying to keep my blood sugars under good control and I'm on metformin 2x daily and levemir insulin pen at night to help keep my fasting levels down.
My last a1c was in sept and it was a 6.0
I just got done reading about birth defects that can happen with diabetes and of course I'm freaking out! This will be our last baby because it's so hard on my body. Anyone have diabetes with their pregnancy? What was your experience? Any birth defect? I'm so scared of harming the baby!!
