Question for all moms who PUMP!!!

Alyssa
My son will be one month old on Thursday. I want to breastfeed for the first year but it's been difficult! It will be a miracle if I make it to six months. I am breastfeeding and pumping, and it's really painful when he latches on. I've seen multiple lactation consultants. Anyway, I wouldn't mind exclusively pumping. I've watched tons of YouTube videos on how to keep up and to get a good supply, but my question (and the reason why I'm having a hard time keeping up with a schedule of pumping every 2-3 hours) is: What do you do when your baby is crying inconsolably and you need to pump? I can't hold him while I pump, and sometimes the only way to get him to stop crying is to hold him. Today he hardly slept, and I was holding him almost all day, so I missed two pumping sessions! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
