Anyone taking care of their little one with little family support?

I've moved far away from family and although I'm not a first time mom, its hard to do this without family. I have a husband but I wish i had some type of family around for emotional support or something..... any moms out there experiencing the same or similar? What are you doing to cope?

Yes I'm living overseas in Japan. My husband is usually gone most days 14-16 hour work shifts and all my family is back in the states and I only have a few friends here. It is really hard for me. I've joined some local mom groups to get more social time for myself. It's definitely not easy on a foreign country especially when you can't speak to the locals.

I hear ya! My Mum lives in the same town but we are basically estranged so she doesn't have anything to do with my new baby. Very sad and emotional!

If two dogs count as a family help. I'm by myself since my daughter was 14 days old, and she will be 6 months next 8. My husband is deployed, and I have no family here where we live. So hard for me all these time alone been a ftm, but my husband is almost back just 3 more months.

We have no family around. Thankfully we have amazing friends that help out with day care and all the crazy things that happen. If it weren't for them, I don't know how we would cope. I'm very involved with my congregation, which is where we met our friends and got super close. I suggest finding some sort of group or activity that will expose you to other ppl, then you'll be able to draw more support.

Same here! I'm Canadian and my husband is Irish, we live in Dublin at the minute but his family isn't very close and we never see them. I have a HUGE family back home and we're all really close so we've actually decided to move back to Canada in the new year because we want to have more family around. I never realized how important it is to have family around when you have a baby. I don't have any tips but I can totally empathize!

I am in the same boat. I wish I had some coping mechanisms to suggest but I don't. My husband does help it's still very overwhelming to do this alone.

Same here...it's just my husband and I! When I need a break, my husband helps. I am used to living far from family, so although I wish they were closer, this is normal for me...
