What are the odds?

I am 31+3 and have been having major back pain with some light cramping all day long. The back pain had got worse as the day goes on but the cramps have stayed about the same.

What are the chances these are more then braxton hicks and actual labor?

I am pretty sure I have been having actual contractions too. My doctor told me that when I have it, to drink something and lay down and to make sure I'm not having more than 5 in an hour. If it's Braxton Hicks, they should stop when changing positions. It is possible to have real contractions as your body prepares itself, but too many at this point they would want to know o they can be stopped before your in active labor. I was having them all day Thursday, but have only had a couple since then and none today. Just see how many you are having in an hour and then call your doctor if it's more than 5 or it doesn't stop. You know better than anyone else and I would rather be told it's nothing than for it to be a big deal and me not say anything about it.
