taking my IUD out on monday

So I have an appointment to take out my IUD (the skyla) on this monday the 5th.... i'm nervous because it hurt so bad while being put in the cramps were insanely bad. I don't know if I should put another one back in or if i should put the 5 year one in or if i should just take a break for awhile? Also another thing do you think my period will be worse the first week it's out?
