If a family members dog bit your child?

Depends how did the kid get bit? Why was kid alone with dog? Dogs can't tell a kid hey stop pulling my tail that sucks. When it comes to kids and animals they need to be closely monitored like standing in the dogs face while the kid pets the dog. N if it's not your dog I don't think you can get rid of it. I say don't allow your kid near dog again.

This is far too vague.
How hard did they bite? If I wasn't sure how the dog was with kids why was the dog in a position to bite my child? Was my child doing something to antagonize the dog? There are so many variables

But in general my answer would be I just wouldn't allow my child around the dog anymore.

My ex husbands gfs pit bull bite my son in his face, broke skin top and bottom and he now has scars, needless to say if I was who I was 5 years ago I would have gotten arrested at the ER. Unfortunately it was the dogs first offense so nothing happened. Livid.

Depends on the dog. Does this dig have a history or violence towards others? Did my child provoke the dog? 
If it's a first time and my kid provoked the animal, I would keep my kid away in the future. If it's a repeated offense, the animal would have to go sorry.
