She's been spending A LOT of time with somebody who is happily in a relationship and she always complains about how he's in a relationship and I've tried to tell her subtly and kindly that she needs to stay away from him because he's taken but her excuse is "if he's committed to his girlfriend why is he spending all his time with me". I really don't know how to get the message across, being someone who has been cheated on I know the position his girlfriend would be in if something happens and I don't want one of my best friends to be the reason he cheated, it's disgusting and disgraceful and I wouldn't be able to look at her the same. How to I let her know she needs to back away from guys in relationships?

I would straight up point out the fact that HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND. I don't think that's mean at all. She needs to have respect for the other girl and her relationship. Girls should be sticking together not going behind their back and wanting their boyfriend. Like I said I would seriously talk to her about the fact he is taken.

If you've already told her, there's not much you can do. We can't control other people and she's going to do what she wants. Unfortunately, all you can do now is watch it blow up in her face

There's a simple answer to why he is also spending time with your friend: because hey, men and women can be friends, even if they have romantic partners. You can't expect a partner to drop all of their friends of the opposite sex when you enter a relationship.

The issue here is that this friend seems to be seeking out a relationship with this guy who is in a monogamous relationship. Can she still be friends and still have a crush on him? Of course, but the morally right thing to do is not pursue a relationship or try to destroy the current one.

Basically, I don't think it's necessary for her to be completely cut off from him, she just needs to realize any attempts at pursuing him might not go the way she would expect, and ruining a happy relationship is not okay. She can still remain friends with him even if she has a crush, it's just called self control. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to care about your advice so it might just be best to let her do her thing and see how it plays out.
