toddler always in a bad mood

I have a 3yr old and an 11month old both girls. From the time my 3yr old wakes up she is in a horrible mood. She will cry, whine, yell and scream, and say things like I don't want that or I don't like that to random things she liked the previous day. 

For example: This morning she woke up crying and whining for her dad who was in the bathroom getting ready for work. I went into her room and brought her to my bed because I was dead tired from being up a lot in the night with her sister (she's cutting two top teeth) her dad came in and said bye and gave us all kisses. She told him she wanted to go to work with him and didn't want him to leave when he said she couldn't go. This upset her and she cried and whinned about it for over two hrs. I tried holding her talking her through it explaining why she couldn't go. Nothing would get her to stop. Finally I just put her in her room and let her cry for awhile. Then I went back in and told her why she couldn't go any why daddy has to go to work. After a little over two hrs she calmed down. 

This kind of thing happens every morning. If it's not one thing it's another. I'm so tired of starting our mornings like this. Does anyone know of anything I can try or why she does this? Thank you and sorry for the long post
