Are you sending out thank you notes?

I started writing thank you notes for the baby shower gifts. A lot of people bought us stuff and I can't seem to keep up with writing the notes! I know it's a good "problem" to have, but I'm  just wondering, are you sending out thank you notes for every gift you are given?

Absolutely. They were in mail the next day. I was raised you don't use a gift until you send a proper thank you. Etiquette is going out the window these days and felt I needed to do my part to keep it up.

we made general thank you notes and gift bags that we handed out as people left.

My boyfriend's sister in law had her sister write in a little journal who gave her what at the baby shower. So this makes it easier to make thank you cards that are a little more personalized. I think this is a great idea and it is what I'm planning to do.

I did write thank you notes from my shower. It was the gifts I received AFTER baby was here that I couldn't keep up with. Hopefully people have grace. 😬

I hand wrote every note. Took me almost a month but I did it! Just did a handful a night. Now I'm working on wedding thank you's. It never ends 😬

I had three baby showers (my mom, my step-mom and my mother-in-law each hosted) and someone took notes for me at each shower as to who gave us what. That's made it easy to write the thank-you notes. That also means I have 78 notes to write 😩 it's a lot, but I am very grateful and want to give my thanks.

No, not writing thank you notes. I didn't have a baby shower. My husband and MIL surprised me with everything I had on the registry plus the things I had on my personal list. We ended up having a baby party where people came, ate, danced, and  won gift cards as well as other prizes but I think thank you notes are a good and thoughtful idea

I know it's after but maybe this will help someone else:
1. Have everyone self address an envelope at the shower 
2. Have a tally keeper to say what you got from who in a concise list. 
3. If you don't have down exactly what they gave do what I did with some wedding gifts "thank you so much for your generosity and desire to celebrate us!" Do it generic but thoughtful. And in baby stuff you can pretty much get away with "I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of it" because everything including gift cards and money is useful for baby.

No I've never received one and we give large presents min $150 for baby showers (usually go in to buy something bigger).

I won't be wasting my time doing it either.
