cervix questions

I am currently in the 2ww with my 5th IUI. We have been trying for 2 1/2 years and we are thinking our next step will be IVF unless we get a BFP this month!! My question is I have read lots of stuff online about how the cervix should feel and where the cervix is laying when pregnant. Does the cervix get soft immoderately after ovulation or is it not until after implantation? I am somewhat confused. My cervix isn't completely soft and I am only 3dpiui but I wasn't sure if it should be soft already. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
