Flu Shot??

I've never had the flu shot. Is it recommended while pregnant?? What do you think??

They recommend you have it in pregnancy. I decided against it. Personal choice :)

I got mine at 20 weeks and we are fine. There's not enough mercury or thimersol to do any harm. And pregnancy is considered to be higher risk for flu because our immune systems are not as effective at getting rid of illness. I just watched a CEU at my work from one of our physicians who specializes in immunizations and pregnancy.

I don't get them. I've never gotten a flu shot and didn't get one with my last pregnancy. My daughter also does not receive them and I won't be getting one with this pregnancy either. In my opinion, your immune system is made to fight the flu and colds that you get, however everyone has their own opinions of it and ultimately it's a personal choice for you to make. Either way you'll be fine 😊

Some people are extremist on why not to get it. Have a chat with your doctor because that is who you should really listen to.

One lady said everyone they know who got it, for the flu. There are a lot of us that didn't.

Yes. Took it at 14 weeks now 27 wks n was fine after it. Nothing wrong happened. Just tell them u r pregnant. So they give u preservatives free shot

I'm planning to get one next week. I don't understand why some women are against the idea. If the doctor recommends it for pregnant women, then why shouldn't you get it? I heard flu can be fatal to the mother and the baby!
