Is virginity that serious?

Im just really curious as to why some people hold their virginity up on a pedestal?  I understand religious reasons or whatever but like whats the big deal? Its just sex and you think thats one the sacred thing your going to give someone on your wedding night blows my mind.  I obvioulsy dont think you should be sleeping with a lot of people unsafely but why do some women take it so seriously. Especially if your "saving" it like its nothing to be saved- virginity is a concept.

Some women consider it special that the only man that will know her body that way is her husband...it's something intimate that only they share. 
Others think it's just sex, and enjoy having fun experimenting.
Others hold value to their virginity due to religious reasons.
And then there's asexuals who just really aren't interested in sex. 
None of these are wrong or better than the others. It's up to the individual what she thinks is right for her body.

I don't believe that you should necessarily save yourself until marriage more so than saving yourself for the right person. Once I knew I was going to marry the man of my dreams I wasn't afraid of being intimate with him because I knew I wanted him to be the one who took my virginity. I don't think it's bad for someone to want to do that. I'm extremely happy with my decision and love the fact that he has been the only one to ever make love to me.

I think you just need to remember that some women hold different values to you and have their own opinions, they can decide what they want to do with their bodies just like you, maybe they just don't want to have sex? It's really each to their own and all women can do exactly what they want with their bodies whether that be sleeping with many men or none at all 😊

IMO, virginity is just a thing society made up to slut shame women and to put a price on her body and demean her prosperity while in the mean time compliment men for the loss of theirs.
