opinion on elective induction at 39 weeks?

It seems EVERYONE is getting induced lol. My doc offered to induce me next week at 39 weeks because shes going on vacation 😒 i really dont want to be induced with no medical reason. But it seems like everyone is being induced:/ anyone else trying to wait it out??

I plan on waiting until 42 weeks if I have to before I'll get induced. I'm 39 weeks too.

If it were me I would go for it if you want to as long as you are at least somewhat dialated and effaced already on your own. If you are not dialated to at least a 2 or effaced then I would think there's a higher chance of your body or baby not being ready and therefore having complications. Whatever you choose I hope you have an amazing, smooth delivery of a healthy baby!!!!!!!

Wait it out. I wished I didn't let my doctor talk me into induction with my first baby. Now I am hoping for a successful VBAC(vaginal birth after c section) with this pregnancy. Give yourself the chance to let your body do what it is made to do!

My doctor advises against it (due date is today but only at one centimeter "tight") because it could force you into c-section

My doc won't do it till 41 weeks at the earliest. He's on vacation the week before and week after my due date but would never offer to induce me as it can cause complications and they want you to go into labor on your own. I'm thankful they're that way because I'd be very put off with them offering to induce me purely out of convenience for them.

I'm opting for an elective induction at 39 weeks if he doesn't come on his own by then. I'm 3cm and 50% effaced..have been for 2 weeks :/ I had my other two at 38w1d and 38w4d,they came on their own and I'm 38 weeks today so he still has time to come on his own I guess!

Yes. I turned 40 weeks about 27 minutes ago. Lol. I'll wait until the baby comes unless she stays in for too too long, or if something happens.

I'm not getting induced, unless there is a medical reason.

To each their own, but all the research I've done makes me sure it is not for me. I will give the kid about 11 days post due date to make an appearance.

Induction/pitocin is a pretty risky endeavor, and leads to way more emergency c-sections.  I generally feel that it will come out when it is ready, but will continue the monitoring to make sure all is well in there.
