Pacifier/ binkie/ dummy for premmies: pros & cons
We've been asked to consider whether we want our son who's in NICU to be given a pacifier/ binkie/ dummy.
What are the pros & cons of this - now and later on?
I believe there are benefits for premmie babies to have one, but don't know much about it.
I have read it's hard later on if it falls out when they are at home sleeping & they awaken and cry. Also hard to wean them off.
In the other hand, he might just suck his thumb instead if he doesn't get one.
