I think it's just luck of the draw if your baby sleeps through the night or not. I don't think I do anything special, this girl just likes her sleep :)

My baby started sleeping through the night around 7 weeks, right when we started using the 90-minute sleep plan during the day. Baby needed her naps! Now she stays awake closer to 3 hours between naps, but she's still a really good night sleeper. I wish she would be more consistent about her naps, but if that's the price for 10-11 hours of sleep most nights, I guess I'll take it!

I didn't really do anything though, aside from doing tons of naps when she was very small. We've never sleep-trained. She doesn't have an extended bedtime routine. Just got lucky! She is formula-fed, so she can go longer without eating. I think it's pretty normal for breastfed babies to still need to eat at least once at night at this age.

Have you tried sleep training? There's a lot of different methods besides CIO. With my baby, I know I cannot let her start crying when she's tired, because she will lose her dang mind and it'll take 2 hours to calm her down. Little things like that about your baby's personality can help you find a method that works. And consistency is key. Once you choose a method, stick with it long enough to give it a good chance of working! I think bouncing around from method to method in desperation is where a lot of people have problems. It can take a while for babies with sleep problems to really settle down. (This is just based on what I've read and heard from my mom friends, btw.)

Our LO typically sleeps 9-10 hours in a row. The only thing that I noticed really helped was making sure she napped well during the day and having a bedtime routine every single night. Ours isn't super complicated but I think she likes the predictable nature of it and we always put her to bed at the same time. Sleep training also helps if your LO doesn't know how to fall asleep on their own.

Consistent daytime and bedtime routine, and putting them down same time every night is very important. Make sure they are eating enough during the day but also leave at least 2 hours before their very last feeding of the night. Feed them their last bottle in their room, with dim lights and no stimulation or loud noise. Babies learn through association. They will then understand that this is bedtime. I highly suggest using a loud sound machine the whole night and keeping the room as dark as possible. CIO is always effective, but only if you feel comfortable doing it. Make sure to not feed every time they wake up during the night. You can soothe them back to sleep without feeding them. They will then learn that nighttime is for sleeping and daytime is for eating. If you skip a feeding at night, then they will no longer expect that feeding. It may take a few nights for that to work though. At this age, they don't need night feedings.  Also, don't turn on any bright lights if they get up in the middle of the night and don't change their diaper unless it's really full. BE CONSISTENT and you will see improvement. My daughter has always slept well at night except for when we have travelled and/or she has been sick and for a short time during the 4 month sleep regression. I just try to get her right back on track once we return to "normal" by doing everything I've suggested and it works.

I bottle feed breast milk. He was waking up every 3 hours and I upped how much I fed him for his last bottle at 7:30 and he now sleeps 13 hours every night.

My daughter is 6 month's and since 2 week's no joke she has slept all night. She started having her nights where she went through a growth spurt. Right now it's bath, clean warm pjs, warm bottle and I lay her down super tired because she falls right alseep. During the day she naps but for not very long, my 3 year old makes sure of that.
