Question: how long after BFP did you call your OBGYN & when was your first appointment scheduled?

I've been using the glow app to track my cycles for four months now. I was expecting AF on Sunday, but she didn't arrive. I have stress due to the end of semester and finals, so I didn't think much of it until I still had no signs of AF two days later. I took a First Response test and almost immediately got a positive result for pregnancy. My husband and I were shocked and thrilled; we couldn't wait to call the doctor in the morning.

When I did call to schedule an appointment, the receptionist asked the date of my last period, and I told her November 8, and she told me that I hadn't missed a cycle yet, and to call back in a couple of weeks. From what I've read, your first appointment isn't typically until week 6-8, but her attitude in telling me I hadn't missed a cycle really pissed me off and seemed weird to me. Has anyone else experienced this, or is this abnormal?

The OB office I'm going to has a policy that you have to be seen for your initial visit and another appt for ultrasound and OB Dr within 8-10 weeks. Ask the policy at offices before making an appt. Good Luck!

When I found out I was pregnant I was 6 weeks along ...I had my normal period 2 weeks before that so the thought of being pregnant never even crossed my mind!

This is my second pregnancy and I called the day after my BFP. My doctor usually schedules between 8-10 weeks after my last period, which seems to be normal. He'll be out of the office, since it's right before Christmas, so I have to wait until the 28th. This will put me at 8w6d. I'll have an internal ultrasound to verify pregnancy as well as a regular weight and measurement check. Good luck!

I had my first appt yesterday, at 7 weeks, for a pelvic exam and pap, and to confirm pregnancy. They scheduled me in 2 weeks for my ultrasound, registration, and a dr appt. They said it will take about 2 hours. :)

I called the morning I got my BFP (which ended up being 4+5). They wanted to schedule me 8-10 weeks after my last menstruation. My first pregnancy appointment was 9+4 and I had a transvaginal ultrasound to date pregnancy and see/ hear Baby's heartbeat.
