getting baby to drink hypoallergenic formula

My son may have a milk intolerance so his doctor told us to try using the gerber extensive ha formula, but he will NOT drink it. He makes a disgusted face and refuses to swallow it and let's it all drool out his mouth. He was on gerber gentle... would it be okay to mix the two formulas to get him use to the taste of the hypoallergenic formula??
