Sippy cup for breast milk?

St

Hi all - my almost 8 month old used to hold her own bottle at home and at daycare but now will refuse the bottle unless someone holds it for her. I don't mind holding at home but they can't sit there with her at school and do it. They suggested trying out a sippy cup because they think she wants to be sitting up and playing rather than laying down and eating. Any good sippy cup recommendations or other thoughts to handle this? Thank you!

The daycare should absolutely be feeding her - not giving her the bottle and walking away. I'd be more concerned with their lack of doing that... When I worked in daycare we'd get in huge trouble if we didn't hold the bottle for baby

I guess I can see that. But if baby needs someone to hold it to eat then they need to do that...not just be like oh well she's not eating today we don't have time for this

Depends on the state. Many will allow for the baby to hold their own bottle. As long as they are being properly supervised and are sitting up, it's not an issue. Propping is different and is an issue due to being a choking hazard, etc.

This is what we plan to use. It's Avent brand called "my natural sippy cup" or something. It is supposed to be better for when their teeth come in doesn't affect tooth development and it replicates drinking out of a normal cup because they don't have to learn how to suck on it to get liquid out. The seal breaks when it is pressed against their lip and reseals when the pressure is released.

Munchkin 360 cups are awesome & spill proof. They are spoutless & better for babies oral development.

FTM here and I'm currently in labor so I can't speak from experience but I plan to use tommy tippee bottles and they also make tommy tippe sippy cups. I grabbed a few of those thinking transitioning will be easier. Maybe you can find something along those lines?
