He still loves his ex

So I've met this amazing guy. I've started falling hard for him but when we were out at the weekend his ex appeared. He ended up ignoring me for her the whole night and I left broken hearted, on Sunday I asked what his deal was and he said "I'm still a little bit in love with her" but he didn't finish things. I don't know what to do cause you can't force someone to change their feelings but now I'm seriously questioning if it'll work.
