TMI - bleeding for 11 days

Back story- I'm 19 I was on birth control but I got off of it and when I got off of it that made me not have a period.. I hadn't had a period since September 2015. My husband and I have been ttc since June but it's been hard because I don't have regular periods.. well recently on the 29th Nov I started bleeding, it was lighter than what was my usual and there was no clots but mild cramps and it went on for 8 days then on the 8th my husband and I had unprotected sex and then on the 11th I started bleeding again, same thing light no clots mild cramping mostly on my left side, I'm making a doctors appointment tomorrow morning but I just wanted to get some feedback from you ladies and maybe even see if it's happened to you before!
