How to know if a crib is a drop side?

Question

My mother kept my crib from my baby days. It's a metal crib and it doesn't seem to be a drop side. When you try to lower one side it's very hard and doesn't come down partially like I've seen in pictures of drop sides. I don't think I've ever seen a drop side crib in person before so I'm not sure what I'm looking for.. How do I know for sure its not a drop side? And yes I know when baby comes to remove the toys and whatnot. 
Update- Thanks for the answers ladies! I'll look into it some more. My nephew used to sleep in this crib also, and I didn't know it was a drop side.. I don't plan on using the crib for a good bit. I'd much rather have baby in my room. But thanks for the advice. And when the time comes I'll invest in a new one.

I wish drop sides were still a thing... My bellys too big for me to reach my  toddler when she's lying down!

You can buy kits that convert a drop side into a regular. Its really just a structure you screw in that disables the drop side

Ours is a completely different style but the side looks similar and it is a drop side. We just lifted it up and pushed it in and it came down. But if I'm correct I think my husband messed with it to do that, he didn't explain it to me though.

It appears to be a drop side with the affixed metal work on the top and bottom of the front sides. Doesn't look like, from the right of the photo, that the back side has this piece at the top and I cannot see the backside bottom. It's a red flag to me because of the metal hardware pieces. Why else would they be there??

It looks like a drop side to me try pulling the front side up and see if it comes down or pull it up and push it inwards and it might work. They are all different
