Too soon to tell family?

I am almost 6 weeks pregnant, but can't get an ultrasound until 8 weeks. We are dying to tell our immediate family, but is it too soon?

I told my parents and sister at 5 weeks. Now nearly 18 weeks. Tell them whenever your ready.

I couldn't keep it a secret from my parents. We told them at 5 weeks and we will be telling my husbands parents on Christmas (9 weeks) either way, we are pregnant right now and God forbid something happens we will need support. We will wait to tell friends until later.

It's up to you. I'm telling intermediate family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My obgyn told me today even though my baby looks completely healthy to wait to tell other people. That's my plan. Other than close friends.

I told my family at 4 weeks but then had a D&C at 10 weeks. It was really hard telling them because they were devastated. This time around my husband and I waited longer just in case. 
I say tell them and whatever happens happens.

I'll be just shy of 6 weeks on Christmas when we tell my in-laws and my parents. It'll be an amazing present to us all, as we've been trying almost a year and this is our first. We won't be telling anyone else until 13 weeks.
