Breastfeeding advice?

I'm 27 weeks and just decided I would like to breastfeed instead of bottle feed. I really don't know much of anything about breastfeeding and I'm going to a class to learn more provided by my hospital but that won't be until I'm 32 weeks. Can anyone give me advice? I'd also like to pump as well, but I really have no clue on when to start pumping, how to store properly or anything like that! Someone just tell me the basics, it'd be greatly appreciated by this first time momma!!

I can't give you much advice but the one thing I can tell you is, DO NOT GIVE UP!! Those first few weeks are so hard and draining. My supply wasn't that great and I gave up way too soon. My nipples were scabbed over and her latch wasn't ever that great but I gave up. I wanted to know she was getting enough so I switched to formula. I was so exhausted and stressed beyond measure but I wish I'd had somebody tell me not to give up. I regret stopping to this day. That being said, I did feel relief when I was able to just focus on my baby. Good luck to you mama!! Congrats on your upcoming bundle!!

It is the best for your baby. Most people give up after a few days because it is very frustrating. Whatever you do don't give up. I breastfeed for 3 years with my 1st and planning to do the same with the one on the way. So I breastfeed from my boobs for about month then started to pump and did both untill I was done breastfeeding. Storage I think it is 6 months in the freezer and in the fridge is a few days. (Double Check that on the Internet) I would feed the baby with one boob and the other boob I would pump. Also never microwave the milk. Just buy a bottle warmer and warm it in there. Also when you are done pumping you just pour it into a storage baggy and write the date on it. (Storage bags are the pain in the butt) This time around with my new baby I'm going to use the kiinde breast milk storage twist. It's super easy and great for 1st time breastfeeding moms
