Anybody's LO's repeatedly opening & closing their jaws?

My soon-to-be 8 month old just recently started opening and closing his mouth as if he's talking or chewing but at the time he's doing neither. Does anyone know why this is? I figured he was probably just realizing he could or maybe it had to do with teething but figured I'd double check on here too. Thanks in advance! 😊
