Anybody's LO's repeatedly opening & closing their jaws?

My soon-to-be 8 month old just recently started opening and closing his mouth as if he's talking or chewing but at the time he's doing neither. Does anyone know why this is? I figured he was probably just realizing he could or maybe it had to do with teething but figured I'd double check on here too. Thanks in advance! 😊

My five month old does it too, we started feeding her solids and not long after is when it started so I think it might be practicing?

My 5 month old does this! Like he is chewing on something on just generally opening and closing his mouth! He just started it last week!

Mine have when their ears are irritated from water or infection
