Would you be OK with it if you and your SO spent part of Christmas apart?

Would you be OK with it if you and your SO spent a few hours of Christmas apart? Like if both your parents and your in laws were planning dinner that night and they don't live close by so you went to your parents and he/she went to their parents?

My husband will be working Christmas Day so I'm grateful for the couple hours I'll get with him before he leaves for work

Both our parents are divorced so there was always four places to go when his mom was still alive. A lot of the time we would drive separately and I would leave his family early and he would meet me at my family then he would leave early and I would meet him at his family ect. It was annoying mostly because our families didn't care how difficult this was on us. We have it planned out a lot better now.

We'll be apart this year. He'll be in Chicago visiting his family and my mom will be visiting me in Delaware. Plans got changed and I didn't want to leave my mom alone on Christmas. He understands, and I'll fly out to spend New Year's with him.

My family lives in Colorado and his lives here in Arizona as well as his 2 year old daughter. So before I leave on the 23rd we will open up gifts with his daughter from us.  He will have Christmas day with his daughter and give her the santa presents. As I will spend with my mom & brothers until I go to my dads side of the family later, on Christmas Day. Then the day after Christmas he will join me with my family in Colorado.

that's what we are doing this year. Were going to my parents for gifts and then he's going to his family for dinner (since both my mom and his family is doing xmas dinner). It just makes sense so everyone can see everyone 😁

I wouldn't like it at all but I wouldn't take him from going to see his parents because of be so angry if he made a big deal about me seeing mine.

It is hard for traditions to be broken. This year my husband and I are doing Christmas eve stuff with his family. Which means I'm going to miss my family's stuff and it is killing me. We went to my families last year which is why we switched it up this year.

Sorry but no. I would rather spend Christmas with my SO than anyone else. We would either take turns or do our own Christmas (that's actually what we do, so) and visit family on either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day.

I don't live by family but my sister lives by mine and her husbands family. They spend Christmas at their house and if grandparents want to come to them then they can. My parents and her in laws don't get along but they suck it up and make it happen for the kiddos on Christmas.
