Should husband get flu shot?

I already got my flu shot during when I was 4 weeks...now I'm in the second trimester. SO says he won't be getting his flu shot since it's already so late into December. At the last check up the doc asked if we've both had our shots and she assumed that my SO will be getting his shot. She suggested we both get the flu shot to protect ourselves and the baby. Does it make a difference? I don't know enough about it but I think he should get his flu shot. Don't want him getting sick. I've been very fortunate to not have been sick nor had a cold yet.
