feeding schedule?

My dr told me to stop feeding my almost 2 month old every 2 hrs. He told me to only feed her every 3 hrs from the time she finished her last bottle. So what do I do when she's hungry after 2 hrs?

Yeah, I wouldn't hold a feeding from a hungry baby. That sounds like a bad combo for a fussy baby and a frustrated mommy. What my little guy is doing is starting to be able to take more and when he does he won't be hungry for 3 hours. Does your LO completely finish a bottle and that action finish the feeding? Or are they becoming disinterestd with the bottle before it's done? If they are finishing the bottle, try giving another ounce. They might still be able to eat and then be satisfied for longer. But, obviously, if they don't want it don't force it. Hope that makes sense!

Feed her!! We had a midwife tell us to feed only 20 mins each boob every 3 hours. Bubs ended up losing a lot of weight because he wasn't getting enough food! We were then told by all the other midwives, lactation consultants and paediatrician that the best thing for your baby is to feed on demand. My son is now four weeks, happy and healthy and he generally feeds every 3-4 hours. Our baby led "routine": he tends to feed more often in the afternoon (every 1-2 hours and only feeds 5-20 mins total). After his feed at around 2100, I wrap him firmly in a muslin wrap, lay him in his cot and he sleeps 3-4 hours. Same thing around midnight and 0300 and then after his approx 0600 feed he is really alert so we do tummy time, read, sing, he plays on his mat etc). After the next feed (around 0900) he generally sleeps again so that's my shower, eat and do some housework opportunity) and then after the approx midday feed he starts just napping on and off between feeds until the arvo when we start all over again:) your baby will tell you if she's hungry!!
