how can I pump and nurse at the same time?

I need to build up my supply before I go back to school, but I still want to nurse her. I just don't want to have an over-supply when I'm not nursing her as much.

I would pump one breast while nursing my daughter on the other. I wouldn't pump as long as she nursed so I could rotate and both breasts would create enough milk. I eventually got to where each breast could pump 6 ounces in 20 minutes of pumping while nursing. I had milk for days!! Lol.

My trick has been to pump exactly one hour after baby is done eating, that when I have the lowest risk of him waking up starving 😝 I usually get 1 oz on each side, but if I remember to do it 3/4 times in a day then I get two 3 or 4 oz bags to freeze 😊

I've tried fenugreek and mothers milk tea (which helped but made baby gassy) lactation bites with brewers yeast (which may have helped, I couldn't tell, but they were tasty) and lots of water AND Gatorade to keep my supply up, and I've never felt like I had an over supply, we go 7-8 hour stretches and my boobs can handle it 😝
