weird to name baby same name as pet?

Do you guys think it's weird to name your child the same name as a pet you've once had? Growing up I had a dog named Scarlett but I LOVE the name now for my second daughter. Why is picking a name so hard?! 😩

I'd feel weird about naming my child the same name as a still living pet, but I don't see anything wrong with naming a child the same thing as a pet that's died.

Not weird, if you love it, you love it. We have a girl dog named Charlie now and my husband said we can't use it for our future child, but since Charles is a big family name  in my family, I wouldn't take it off the table.

As long as you know family will comment on it, then no.
 
My sister named her daughter Kiarra (Kee-are-uh), but her dog (still alive) is named Kira (keer-uh).  My mom gets he names mixed up all the time and it drives my sister nuts.

I see nothing wrong with it but your family might think it's weird/funny, or they may love it if they really loved the dog :)

My husband and I seriously considered naming our baby boy Chance. Which was the name of my childhood cat. Nothing weird about it at all. Names are names.
