measuring ahead...what exactly does that mean??

Had my 20 week appointment today and doctor said I'm measuring a full week ahead, 21 weeks. So what exactly does that mean?

It just means the baby is big and growing great. I was always a week ahead with my son and I had him at exactly 39 weeks

It means that on average compared to orhers.... you measure a little bigger. Meaning baby is measuring a week bigger. But it can just be more fluid or different placement during the measurement.....

Early in the pregnancy me and my husband thought I was 10 weeks and a few days. Lined up with when I had my last MC and ovulation 12 days later a positive pregnancy test came up right before my missed period. Went in to find out we were a full week ahead actually 11 weeks and few days. My husband didn't understand and started doing a bunch of math. It was driving us both crazy!! But I then started to read more into it all, and then tried to explain it was normal for the baby was just growing bigger then we thought. It took several other people to tell him the same thing before he finally let it go. It's normal for baby to be bigger even by a week. Just means you get to see your little bundle of joy a week sooner! :)
