Is this the physical baby stuff needed?

I'm a big planner and trying to plan what I need for my coming babe. We are in a small 1 bedroom apartment and don't have a lot of room for stuff, neither do we have much money since my husband is in school and in unpaid internships for another year and a half.

Also, I know I could save money with a convertable carseat, but we don't have a big car, can be used as a rocker and such when in a public place, and by the time they grow out of it, my husband will be in his career and we'll be able to afford another car seat.

I plan on buying used (except for car seat) to help with expenses and because I believe in "reduce, reuse, recycle" whenever I can.

A couple of receiving blankets and burp cloths would be helpful. I'd wait on toys and cutlery until you need it...you have time. If you're pumping, you may want two bottles in case someone else eventually feeds baby. We used two for the first year and it was more than enough. Forgive me if any of those were already on the list.

I would add you don't need bowls and cups and things yet. I agree that toys and books are pretty far in the future, too.

Bottles if you plan to pump, and check with your insurance, most cover pumps, at least partially. If you want one used you would need to get a hospital grade one to avoid contamination. Breast pads, you'll probably leak, especially in the beginning, also might want to look into milkies or something similar, personally I just used small Tupperware containers, but it was difficult since I had to hold it while I nursed. Nursing cover, you might not want to use it long term, but it's nice to have when your still figuring out what your doing, just based on personal comfort really. Nursing bra and maybe shirts, but might want to wait until baby is at least a week old, your boobs will definitely grow, and there's no predicting how much(I recommend a sports bra style, can wear to bed, I got mine for $10 at Walmart). Also hats, and I use baby socks as gloves, much cheaper than actual baby gloves. Plates, bowls and spoons can wait a little bit, and also bibs and a high chair when you start solids. Changing table and pad, tons of people think it's a waste, but I use mine. My changing pad is on a dresser though, that baby will use till it breaks, duel long term use. Toys can wait a little bit, but books are a good idea. It's good to read and talk to baby!
Not all of these are necessary, but I've found them very helpful for myself.

The "toys ans books" sevtion can definately wait.... we had to buy everything ourselves and reslised most people buy/receive way too much.... much more than what we actually need. Your list is very good..... :)  however instead of the swing I would probably just get a vibrating seat type that you can pick up easily and move from room to room whenever you need.... thats all we had for baby 1 and it was enough..... i just bought a swing yesturday for baby 2 just cause we had nothing to buy since we already had everything from baby 1 and decided to treat ourselves with one. I would also add burp cloths.... and swaddle muslin blankets instead of sleep sacks.... you get multi-use for them ... better bang for your buck. As for your breastfeeding products i cannot help as i formula feed. But you seem to have covered everything. My one favorite item though is the graco nasal aspirator... wouldnt do without one.  Have fun finding everything.... nesting is the best part of pregnancy!! :)

An idea to get books is at your shower, instead of having people give cards have them write a message to baby in their favorite children's book. It kind of goes along with your "reduce, reuse, recycle" plan by not wasting paper

Bibs and burp rags, although we always just used cloth diapers as burp rags. I would also add diaper rash cream, nipple cream and pads, and baby Tylenol and gripe water

If/when you get a diaper bag, don't bother getting one of the spending ones that are marketed as diaper bags. Just get a cheap backpack from like Walmart, or maybe the thrift store if you can find a bag you like there. I wouldn't bother getting the bowls and stuff like that yet since the baby isn't going to be using them for awhile and they'd just take up space.
