lactating/discharge and not pregnant

After I got out of the shower this morning I noticed a milky substance coming from my nipple and I know I'm not pregnant and I'm terrified to tell my husband or go to the doctor. I did a quick google search and the cause can be anything from over stimulation to a tumor. My health insurance is fucking terrible and basically covers nothing and I don't know what to do :/ anybody have experience with this or advice?
