elective c sections?

For my own personal reasons which I don't feel I have to explain.... I really want a c section. Has anyone gotten a elective c section? How did you go about getting one?? ( finding a doctor that will allow it and making a case for one). I know the risks so please don't lecture me

I don't think you're given a choice of an elective c section if you 1) are not having twins and 2) having a normal no complication pregnancy.

Unless it's medically necessary or you've already had one then you probably won't be able to. The risks outweighs the benefits and is very traumatic to the unborn child. Good luck. I'll be having my 5th cs in may and God I wish I could deliver naturally!

You'll just have to go through doctors, explain your reasoning, and see what they say. Nobody can make a case for you, because we don't know your reasons, so basically it's up to you. Also, make sure your insurance will cover an elective c section, most will not and you do not want to be stuck paying out of pocket for a surgery.

I've never met a doctor that would allow a c-section unless it's medically necessary. You could try telling these personal reasons to your doctor and see what they say, but I think you may be out of luck unfortunatly

Most insurance companies will not pay for an elective c-section. Your doctor would have to find a "reason" for you to need it.

The biggest hurdle is getting a doctor to agree, which we can't really help with.  Other than that it's pretty much the same.  Give then your reasons and if they won't call another clinic.
