Did you have your first born in the room?

My first born is super attached I mean attached. My best friend will be there to keep her in the waiting room for a while. While I have my second, But just wondering how other mommies went along with this situation.

My son will be almost 8 and he insists that he wants to be in the room when I have the baby. Since I know full well he's going to freak and bail, I'm keeping an extra family member on hand to watch him in the waiting room

I think she plays a big role in this. If they're under like 10, I'd say no way, they should stay home until after baby get here

While I would love to have my son there and involved I'm having twins and will likely deliver in the or. However while laboring he should be able to be there. My issue is I don't want anybody else there and if our son is there that means inlaws will have to be there to take him home. So chances are he won't come until we either go home or the next day when my husband can go pick him up. I like to keep my labor and birth just me and my husband, and if I could our son.

I just had my second. My little boy was with me while I was on the ward before I went to the delivery suite. Then my mum took him home. I wouldn't have wanted him in the hospital during my active labour just because I wouldn't have been able to concentrate on birthing my daughter , worrying if he was ok. 
I'm lucky that he also has a good bond with my family though. 
It's whatever works best for your own situation really

My mom kept my niece (almost 2 years old) at her house while my sister was in labor. After baby was born, she headed up to the hospital with her. It was much easier to keep her at her house rather than the waiting room at the hospital.

My parents kept my kids most of the day. There are few things worse than spending hours and hours in a hospital waiting room with a child, I wouldn't do that to anyone. I had my husband leave at night, to put the kids to bed and sleep at home with them. I wanted their routines as unchanged as possible, so things would be a bit easier when we brought baby home. I wouldn't have any kids in the hospital room during delivery, too many unknowns.

She will stay with my parents and we'll call them while we're in recovery, so they can head up.  She's almost 7 and dying to meet her sister.

My friend had her all day! I went to my 39 week appointment and I was in labor so she came and picked her up from the hospital!

My LO will be 16mo when I give birth. We won't have her in the room during delivery. She is attached to my hip so I'll have her visit me until active labor and then my mom will stay with her outside the room until her sibling is born. Then we will bring her back in after they've cleaned up the mess (with my first born, after birth, it looked like a murder scene. Blood was everywhere, I don't want to traumatize her with that imagery). I had my mom and hubby with my first SO this will be new, just me and hubby!

I am planning on my Mom to watch my toddler while I have baby number 2.
I think she would be terrified to see me in pain and just in hospital...
Think is better for them to stay home...and once we have the baby she can come and visit in the hospital...
