Water breaking?

I don't want to sound dumb, but why do some people refer to their water breaking in plural ways? Like I've heard people say, "My waters." Or they will say "they" Please someone explain? I'm curious.

I haven't researched it but it's my understanding that there is actually two separate waters and that's why?? Regardless it always bugs me when I hear it called "waters." I'll go look it up lol.
