Moms - would you recommend inducing?

I'm pregnant with my first and I'm scared of having to be induced. From what I've heard from most moms who have been there, labor does not go smoothly after induction and it often leads to emergency c-sections.

For those of you who have been induced in the past, was it a "good" experience? Or did it cause your labor to be something you didn't want?

And on that note, would you recommend someone with a dr wants to induce them to request a scheduled c-section instead?

I was induced with my first and it wasn't awful, it just took forever.. no I wouldn't rather a c section, I'd gladly be induced again over getting sliced open for virtually no reason.  I progressed and went on to have my son vaginally with an epidural because I was so exhausted. But it was a great labor other than that. Ps my labir was 27 hours..I was induced for medical reasoning not elective. If a doctor wanted to induce just because I would decline and let my baby come when he wanted and needed to.

I mean, I'd certainly rather be induced than have a c-section! If baby won't come on his own, one or the other may become necessary, and major surgery would be my LAST choice.

I was induced bc I was overdue. I delivered baby at 41+3 (10 days past my due date). Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but I did get an epidural. Did not have to have a c-section though!

I was induced and it went very smooth. I actually liked being induced because it was planned and I knew what to expect.

But I was induced due to developing cholestasis.(sp) @ 37wk

I was supposed to be induced and I'm glad I went the day before.

I've never heard a good experience from induction. They say FTM and inductions almost always end up in c sections (not that there's anything wrong with a c section)

I was induced at 39+1 due to my SO being deployed & this was our decision so he could make it to the birth. I was a FTM so I was more terrified of going in labor on my own. I went in the first day for cervidil (they kept in for about 12 hours). Once that was taken out at midnight, I was only 1cm. They gave me pain meds to help me sleep (horrible pain meds). It ended up making me sick the next morning. Around 8:30am, they started pitocin. When I got to 3cm, they broke my water. That's when it got serious. I had back labor so my contractions were horrific, didn't want anyone touching me, anyone moving, talking, texting, anything. I went from 3cm to 7cm within an hour and FINALLY got the epidural. After that, I was fine. Around 2:15pm, I felt lots of pressure. Started pushing & my LO was out within like 10 pushes. I didn't have a bad experience at all. It went very fast & easy for me. Pitocin is no joke BUT I don't think anything could have saved me from the back labor I had.

Induced and it was a good delivery with no issues. No cuts, rips or anything. The thing that really hurted was the iv when they put it in my hand after having the epidural. I don t remember horrible contractions and I had no pain down there. After birth I was feeling great, like new :) was my 1st birth, had a 7lbs10oz baby boy who was 11 days overdue lol! All thing took 20 hrs from when I went to hospital til I had the baby out, took epidural after 14hrs cuse I was not dilating otherwise the contractions were every minute but not extremely painful. Pushed about 20min, 3-4times.

My mom was induced with me. Went in at 430pm, I was born by 1230am. No c-section, no suction, no forceps, no cuts or anything. She got her epidural and it was smooth sailing
