No more ultrasounds?? MD mommies

My ultrasound office said I MAY come back at 40wks to check and see if she's in position if the ob felt it was necessary and they wouldn't do the 3D when I was there at 21wks (2nd scan) because she was still a little underdeveloped for the 3D.  2013 when I was pregnant with my son I had 3. The last they did my 3D. I've been seeing a lot of 3D scans and I'm trying to figure out what exactly is going on?!? I want to see her 😭😭 any mommies in Maryland been told something similar?

I'm almost 29 weeks and I've had 3 ultrasounds. It would have only been 2 but during the anatomy scan they didn't get some of the pictures they needed (everything was fine with baby- he just wasn't cooperating that day). However, all 3 times the ultrasound tech always did some 4D photos for me...and this was just at my OBGYN...not a special office or anything.

I'm getting three - dating scan at ~8 weeks, 20 week anatomy scan and a 28 week growth check, which will be next week. I'm pretty sure that one was planned because I suddenly put on a ton of weight and my fundal measurements went up a little too much between 20 and 24 weeks.

I would have only had 2 ultrasounds if I only got the standard ones my doctor recommends. One at 7 weeks to confirm pregnancy and one at 19 weeks for anatomy. We opted for first trimester nuchal translucency screening and got an ultrasound for it at 12 weeks. Then at 16 weeks we paid out of pocket for an early gender scan plus 3d/4d. We would not get another one so we are paying out of pocket again to get a 3d/4d scan on Friday at 29+2 weeks. Unless something is wrong or you're high risk, my doctor doesn't do many ultrasounds.

My hubby is stationed in Suitland at the Airforce base... and so we get seen on base. They don't even do 3D/4d ultrasounds. So I paid out of pocket to have one at 19w. But, I'm 30 weeks now and I want to have another one. But, everywhere is so expensive.

And I've only had 2normal ultrasounds done

Most 3D scans are private pay unltrasounds. My office will do one at 35 weeks just to do a last check on all features.

I asked my doctor about a 3D scan and she said they don't do them until after 28 weeks, but to just ask at my next ultrasound appointment. They do them using the same machine and everything.....they just have to push a button.

I'm in KY. But I haven't seen my little girl since 19 weeks. Will be 30 weeks tmrw... was told I'll get a development scan at 36 weeks. 
I'd ask your doc. It may be your insurance that doesn't cover 3D because 3D isn't necessary

I thought my babe was developed at 19 weeks. She was just so tiny & didn't have any fat on her. She don't look anything like she did then though.

I will end up with 4 total. 8 week dating, 12 weeks nuchal fold, 18 week anatomy, and 30 week final scan.
