How long did it take you to ovulate after stopping the pill?

My husband and I decided to TTC our first (nervous and excited!), but I've been taking oral birth control for at least 5 years.  Curious how long it took others to begin to ovulate after stopping BC?

Hi! I came off the pill after 15 years last September and had a period straight away the next month, the first one was just three days and a bit light, the next was five days and quite heavy and the last two have been normal and four days. Each time it was either 28/29 day cycle. I also instantly got CM. We have actually been avoiding my fertile days so far as I wanted to give my body some months to regulate but Jan is our first month of properly going for it..! Fingers crossed! Baby dust to you!

Def get ovulation tests to see if you are ovulating. If not, you can try taking vitex. It's an herb you can get at GNC or natural food stores ($8) and it helps with ovulation. You can google/YouTube for more info but it helped me to ovulate regularly. I take 2 a day first thing in the am.

I was on the pill 11 years I stopped during placebo week (we started trying right away) I got my period about two days earlier than normal that first month and it was heavier than normal as well. Started trying again as soon as my period was up ( sex every other day until positive opk then sex three days in a row) and I never got my second period because I was pregnant. I was terrified it would take forever, but we actually got pregnant a month sooner than we expected (we were shooting for an April baby but we are having a march baby). Hopefully you have the same luck!
