Frustrated with due date?

Question

When they did my dating ultrasound at the beginning of my pregnancy, I told them there was no way I was only 5 weeks along, since that would mean I would have gotten the positive (hard! Positive!) 3 days after ovulating. I told them I knew specifically the day we had sex. Well baby measured at this so.... ok whatever.

Fast forward to last Thursday when we had our anatomy scan.  Baby is measuring bigger, by 9 days (which by the way fits the timeline exactly). My dr says that it's no big deal that the baby is measuring when I ovulated, that they're not going to move my due date up. While I get 9 days isn't a huge deal, it kinda is. At two weeks (14 days) past your due date, they induce labor.

I'm just frustrated. Anyone have anything like this happen?

I think as long as the baby is measuring within 2 weeks, everything will stay the same. As for the dating ultrasound, they are measuring millimeters. So being off a few days happens often.

Nope, I would tell them to change it. Again, or find another doctor, this clearly is not listening to you. I didn't even have a dating scan, I told them I knew my due date already haha so that's what they put in 😆 anatomy scan was 2 days off, so mama is right! Trust those mama instincts! If they don't move it, refuse to be induced for sure!

I've known some women who have delivered healthy babies 3 weeks past their due dates.   I would just see it as you bought some extra time to avoid an unnecessary induction. A lot of women get induced sooner than the 2 week mark anyway.

I know for sure my cycle is 35 days, not the regular 28. I also know the exact date we had sex because my hubs was traveling the two weeks before and I was gone the two weeks after. Yet my official due date is still one week earlier than what I know will be 40 weeks. Luckily my Dr understands and while they won't change my due date because all of the results are automatically based on 28 day cycle, he is willing to be negotiable with a potential induction. Still a worry, but my Dr has been great with everything else so I trust him. I would continue to talk about it and express your concern about early induction.

I just know with my first I said I didn't want to be induced, that baby would come when he was ready. And they stressed that at two weeks past, I HAD to get induced. And then once we went in for induction, they said if I hadn't have had him on the 3rd day, they would have taken me in for a C section. If time is that important, then why isn't it here?

I totally understand they keep moving my due date so I won't freak out about the development of the baby.

With my first pregnancy and this one two my anatomy scans always said baby is measuring two weeks ahead. They did not change my due date either time. Last pregnancy I had contractions every 3-5 minutes for a week with no further dilation so then they scheduled my induction a week past due and my doctor was surprised I had such a big baby lol.

Long story short baby will come when they come. Due dates don't have a lot of weight anyways.
