gate check bag for stroller and car seat

I'm planning to fly and see family when lo is 2 months old. I am planning to gate check my chicco key fit 30 travel system. Has anyone used the gate check bags you can buy and had good luck with them? Or should I desk check my stroller and if so what bags are good for that? Tia! Any other suggestions are also appreciated as this is my first time flying with a baby and I'm a FTM
