Ultrasound for ovulation?

Hey ladies, so I've been taking Letrozole for almost 3 years now.. had one pregnancy but lost my sweet baby last January. My new dr is having me do letrozole this month but is having me come in day 13 for an ultrasound and then will give me a shot to ovulate? Im confused has anyone else done this? What are the benefits?

My Dr did the same. It's to see if the medication is working, to see how many follicles develop, how big they are, and to see how close you are to ovulating. The Dr can also look at the lining of your uterus too. The trigger shot helps ovulation happen.

I found monitoring so helpful. All the appts get exhausting, but it is much better than just guessing.

The ultrasound is to check for maturing follicles to make sure the Femara is working and the shot is to help ovulation to actually occur. Have you not have monitored cycles before?
