Milk too fast?

Question

My 10 day old baby is coughing gasping choking during BF due to milk flowing too fast. Not sure what to do. Any ideas? Also not sure if this is related but he's dozing off, uninterested right after 3-4 min of active sucking. So in a 40 min feeding session, I am spending majority time waking him up. When up, it's the oversupply issue !! He's  not quite gaining the 1oz/day so far. Am concerned. PLEASE HELP.

Have you tried pumping some shortly before feeding? Like say he eats and you know he's gunna eat in about 2 hours, pump 20-30 minutes before feeding so there's not as much milk, that will help the flow slow down.

Im having the same issue with my 5 day old little girl. Have you tried laying on your back and letting the baby lay on thier tummy and nurse? Sounds odd but when they are going against gravity they wont take in so much at one time. Ive also been laying on my side and nursing as well.

Strip them down to their diaper and when feeding, if you rub their cheek in a circular motion it encourages the sucking motion. I also burp/change my baby halfway through cause she likes to doze off and it wakes her up

I'm having the same exact issues with my 3 week old! Make sure you strip her down to her diaper before every feeding to keep her awake and constantly tickle her feet and body while she's feeding. If she falls asleep try burping her or changing her diaper.
