your experience with Paragard birth control?

I'm thinking about getting the paragard iud after I have my second baby, I just want to hear some experiences with it. I don't want to take the pill or any other birth control because I don't want the hormones in my body, so ParaGard is my only option.

I liked it! My period was a little heavier but not unbearable. I was just happy to be hormone free with BC! :)

I liked it, but I have PCOS. My uterine lining overgrows and I had a problem with non stop bleeding. So, it wasn't a good solution for me. That being said, I WOULD recommend it to someone else.

I personally didn't have a great experience. I also have not had a child and apparently that matters. The insertion was the most awful pain--- yeeeouch. Keep in mind nothing has passed through my cervix. I had kind of psycho mood swings...like thank god my now husband stayed around. Lastly, at my year check up "to check the strings" and placement it had begun to dislodge itself and my body was expelling it. Had to be removed right then. I've had friends that love it and had no issues. For me I will stick to Nuva Ring for birth control.
