no heart beat at 8+5

Hi all... I posted a couple of weeks ago as I had an early scan for medical reasons which showed a blood clot and me measuring a week behind.. Had follow up scan today, at 8 weeks and 5 days roughly ... Still no heart beat .. Beyond devastated but the lady we saw at the hospital said they will see me back in another 2 weeks for another scan to check again but it's very very unlikely.. Baby has still been growing between those 2 weeks (between scans)... Has anyone ever had this at 8ish weeks, my test didn't show positive until 5 days after period was due so possible I'm slightly behind what they have estimated from my last period... Just looking for hope when really I know there isn't any if I'm honest :(
