Help in Emergency Contraception :'(

On New Years I drunkenly had sex with a guy. He told me he was careful, but I still have anxiety about it. A huge situation has occurred and it's just tearing me to pieces.. But anyways. I'm a broke college student with no job. Instead of going to buy the plan b pill, I just took 6 birth control pills. Keep in mind tonight is the 5th and I had sex on the first. I know it's a good 5 days, and I could have even been safe without taking the pills. But do multiple birth control pills act as a plan b, since it's basically all the same hormones? Was it a mistake to take them? Will it work? Please help!!
