How long is your Maternity Leave & and what do you do?

Just curious as to what the other Mama's will be doing. How long are you taking off for Maternity Leave and what will you be doing for work? Any Mom's giving up their career to be a stay at home Mom?

I m a teacher in UK, I get 4 weeks full pay, 6 weeks 90% then 12 weeks half pay after that it's 138 a week til 9 month. I'm going back after 7 month, today's my due date and I've been on leave for a week.

In canada, everyone gets a year (if you had enough hours within the year leading up to taking the leave..and I think it's 600 hours in a year)

I get 12 weeks total I believe, and will be paid a percentage of my salary. I think I can stay home longer if I want (unpaid) with my position held for me.

My maternity leave is for 9 months but could take 1 year but only get paid for 9 months.. I'm a carer :)

I'm in the UK and a dental assistant for the NHS. I get 2 months full pay. 4 and a half months half pay and statutory maternity pay. And then 3 months half pay xx

At the time I was making WAY more than my husband, but he supported my decision to become a housewife. I went on 2 mouths paid maternity leave and never looked back!

My mother had a daycare while I was growing up. She had to correct the children many times, because they would start to call her "mommy". I watched children break down in tears every morning as their mother would go to work. I am by no means saying daycare is a bad thing. It has helped many people that need it, but for me and my family I knew I wanted to be the one to raise with my children. I'm so grateful for the emotional, financial and spiritual support my husband provides.

Ive already taken my leave since 20weeks and on diasbility until my daughter is here in march then itll switch to fmla i get 12 more weeks after shes born but only 6 of those weeks are paid so ive decided just to take 8 weeks then go back to work. Im a hairstylist and i depend on my tips so unfortunately i cant spend the full 3 months at home😔

I'm a demanding employee but know my value. With my first I took 8 weeks but then worked from home for over 2 yrs. Saved up my vacation and some extra $ for my time off.

With #2, took 10 weeks.... Thought my boss would die! Again I worked from home until she was weened, over a year.

With this one, we are talking and praying, my husband and I. Think I may retire from work to be stay at home. It's what I've always really wanted to do, and hubby believe it's best for the kids.

If you can live on budget and have the support, I'm always for staying home with baby☺

I only have a low income part time job as a factory worker in an ice cream factory (not done with university yet) and I've signed up for 12 months of paid maternity leave
