BIRTH STORY!

Jess

It's finally my turn to share!

Well, I went in the be induced at 8pm on January 8th. Ended up just doing a sleepover and starting with cytotec at 630am on the 9th. Didn't get pain meds until 5cm which was the IV med that makes you loopy as heck. 6cm, they broke my water and I started with the epidural (which they screwed up twice lol my spine does NOT cooperate!). Fell asleep on and off. Around 830pm I started to feel contractions again which I thought was wierd for having an epidural. I asked for anesthesia to come check on it, the were busy. Fell back asleep, an hour later my doctor came in to check after I asked again for anesthesia because I woke up to the pain. She lifted my leg (I was laying on my side), gave a really funny look and goes "um. there's a head." Closed my leg really gently and said "don't push. I'll be right back. Hope you're ready for this baby!" They got all the doctors in there (NICU, respiratory, the whole nine yards), flipped me over, lifted my legs up, my doctor sat down and said "push" and I didn't even push. All I had to do was do a little crunch to ask what she said and this little girl came flying out 😂 needless to say, I slept through most of my active labor, including crowning.

Brooklynn Rae born January 9th, 2017 weighing in at 7lbs 9oz, 19.3 inches long and only had a 2% SURVIVAL RATE!!! MY RAINBOW AND MIRACLE BABY MADE IT! Small bumps in the road have us in nicu until at least next Tuesday, but hopefully get to go home on Wednesday! She's all I could want and more. Her big brother was definitely watching over her💜
