Violent Birth- have you heard of/experienced it?

I labored for 7 hours and birthed my son in just 4 pushes in the last 12 minutes. He is healthy and happy! I lost a lot of blood afterwards and had to have a transfusion because I fainted about 24 hours after he was born. The doctors didn't give me much of an explanation, but others have said it's because he came so fast.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Ask your doctor. There could be a specific reason for hemmoraging or otherwise loosing a lot of blood. Or there could be a few different factors. Oftentimes, precipitous labor is one (of many) risk factors in labor outcomes. But it's not necessary due 'only' to that. I had 3-inductions, all less than 5 hours. 2 of 3 I pushed less than 20 minutes. I never needed a transfusion due to length of stages or pushing. But I've def read about people who have! If your doctor doesn't provide a suitable explanation, then request your medical records. It's interesting to see notes from Doctor/nurses on staff at hospital regarding your birth.

Can you explain a little more about what you mean by violent? Are you talking about the speed? Fast labors are usually called precipitous labors. Or is it the blood loss? I think this is actually pretty common. I somehow ended up with blood splattered all over me, including my face and the wall behind me.
Maybe your question is about feeling like your labor and delivery were traumatic, physically or mentally, to you. This I totally understand. Mine was amazing because my son was born but I would also describe it as very traumatic. It took a lot of time and processing it to feel ok about it.

I labored 24 hours. Pushed for 10 minutes and delivered. About the same with both my sons. Never lost blood..

You lost a lot of blood. It makes sense that you passed out. You'll be fine since you got the transfusion. Lots of women experience tiredness during their period... same concept. Losing lots of blood and the iron that's in that blood.

I went from 2cm dilated to giving birth in exactly 4 hours and had absolutely no issues with blood loss... I only experienced a 3d degree tear, but there were other reasons that also played their role in that... so by my experience, a fast birth doesn't necessarily mean you'll bleed so much to need a transfusion...
