How to get labor to kick in!?

Hey mommas, I need some advice. I am 39 w and 3 days and I'm ready to get this child out of me! What has worked for you guys? I've heard really scary things about castor oil so I kinda want to stay away from that, any other tricks?

I tried bouncing on a birth ball, sex, walking, jogging, and jumping jacks.

There are things you can try, but like pp said, they'll only work if you and baby are ready.

Sex. 3 times in a day with ejaculation in you is the same dose of the chemicals they use in cervical ripeners like cervadil at the hospital. Bonus points if you come, too as the contractions created by orgasm can help Kickstart real contractions.

Nipple simulation. Rub around the areola as if you were expressing milk...note that you've got to keep this up for a while. Like, 45 minutes 3 times a day. Or try using your pump. Stop when you get a contraction and wait, if contractions stop, pump again until they start.

Bouncing on yoga ball. Less effective. But if baby isn't yet in the right position, this can help get them there if that's what is holding up labor.

Pretty much everything else is an old wives tale, I've read. But if you're desperate, give things a try! Good luck!
